Short Biography

Carlos Duque was born in Madrid and attended the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música. He has studied analysis and composition with masters such as Carmelo Bernaola, Arturo Tamayo, José Luis de Delás and Rhian Samuel. Nowadays he is a research fellow at University of Huddersfield (UK), researching the electronic music of Roberto Gerhard.

His works have been performed in venues such as LSO St. Lukes (London), Theatre of Nimes (Nimes, France), the National Auditorium of Music (Madrid), International Festival of Contemporary Music of Alicante (Spain), and in different countries such as Japan, Germany and the USA.

He is a television and film composer, having worked for different Spanish TV companies, including TVE (Spanish National Television), T5, TVG and A3

His electroacustic music is recorded in “Time” on Cronos Digital Records (2004). All his works are edited in Boileau and Pygmalión.

He is musical adviser for Radio Clásica, a division of Radio Nacional de España, and is Head of Máster en Composición para Audiovisuales (Master for film and television music) at Centro Superior Katarina Gurska, where he is also tutor of some students at Máster de Interpretación Contemporánea.
